Ampower Electrical recently attended an emergency electrical fault finding job for Lina in Monterey NSW 2217, after the property suddenly lost power following severe weather conditions.
Upon arrival, our licensed electrician Kris carried out urgent testing and inspection of the switchboard. It was identified that only C phase was active, while A and B phases had no incoming supply to the property. This indicated a serious upstream supply issue rather than an internal wiring fault.
Further investigation confirmed that two incoming supply cables had snapped on the telegraph pole, caused by heavy winds and storm activity in the area. This damage resulted in the loss of both A and B phases feeding the property, explaining the sudden and complete power outage.
Our team safely isolated the affected circuits, documented the fault, and advised on the required coordination with the energy provider to restore supply. Fast diagnosis during emergency situations like this is critical to ensure safety and minimise downtime for the homeowner.
